Blending the sounds of Indie, Folk, Alt.Country & Americana, with lyric based songs and involved texture and sound, it’s hard not to engage in the honesty, moments of vulnerability and truth that is laid on the stage during their live shows. This 4-piece band is comprised of Ben Ripani (guitar, vocals), Colin Fleming (percussion), Dave Marshall (bass, vocals) & Chris Nakielski (keyboards, vocals).

Coco Méliès’s sound can be attributed to a unique mixture of folk and electro sounds that is
distinctively their own. Francesca Como and David Méliès have created songs that seamlessly weave
delicate and atmospheric sounds with solid earthy tones. The harmonious blend of their voices form the
heart of this project. The intimate and captivating show they put on have already established them as a
solid presence on the Montreal scene.

Armed with an acoustic guitar and her impressively effortless vocals, Kautzman’s music contains plenty of elements such as fuzzed-out alt-country and lo-fi shoegaze folk. However, she manages to evade the clichés of the singer/songwriter genre despite keeping elements such as the plaintive strumming of a lonely acoustic or vocals that are forcefully and heartrendingly aching. Although drawing from a multitude of influences to create her own sound and atmosphere, Kautzman’s music has been said to flow in a similar vein as that of Feist, Sharon Van Etten and Neko Case.
8PM – 8:45: Tessa Kautzman
9 – 9:45: Ben Ripani Music Co.
