THE LONELY KINGS Premiere “Promises” Online Featuring Papa Roach Frontman Jacoby Shaddix
Sacramento based The Lonely Kings have premiered a lyric video for their new single “Promises” featuring Jacoby Shaddix from Papa Roach online at
The track is the new single off The Lonely Kings new album “American Heartache”, which hits stores on September 3rd, 2012 via Epochal Artists Records/Capitol Music Group.
“Jacoby and I have been friends since 99′. We hit it off immediately and I was elated that I had finally met someone that talked about band life more than I did. We have similar lives with music and family and the balance between the two. He has been a major influence on my life as a musician and a father,” said Jake Desrochers from Lonely Kings about the collaboration. “We have a strong connection. I wrote ‘Promises’ as a testament to my commitment to my kids, wife and band. He came to the studio that day to help with vocal coaching but ended up singing and really was able to identify with the meaning. He pushed me hard to make the lyrics honest and straight forward. They are words I live up to in my everyday life and I’m entirely grateful to have his guidance, friendship and support.”
Jacoby Shaddix from Papa Roach added the following about Lonely Kings,”Love these guys, true American punk rockers with hearts of gold and a record that captures the spirit of passion and conviction that gives me faith in music.”
“American Heartache” is the follow-up to the group’s critically acclaimed album “Crowning Glory”, which was released on legendary punk label Fearless Records. The album was produced and engineered with Grammy award winning producer/engineer Michael Rosen (Rancid, The Donnas), and is heavy, moody, chaotic, and fierce rock & roll. The nine tracks will have listeners fist pumping, as The Lonely Kings resurrect the spirit of bands Social Distortion, Hot Water Music, and Rancid. The album’s soaring melodies, gritty vocals and intricate guitar work are anchored by a tight, powerful rhythm section, that comes together to capture the essence of a hard hitting rock & roll record.
“American Heartache” is also a revealing look into the heart and minds of the Lonely Kings, as they offer listeners a front row seat to watch them confront their deepest pain, love, and insecurities. Frontman Jake Desrochers uses the songs on “American Heartache” as a chance to open the closet and shine a light onto the skeletons that have been hiding inside his mind.
